Profile: Joshua Cairns is the Creative Communications Assistant for the BC Wildlife Federation's Wetland Education Program. Driven by a passion for the environment and its proper management, he is completing his B.A. in Geography at Simon Fraser University, along with a certificate in Spatial Information Systems. Joshua has recently completed several projects including an analysis of available green space in Metro Vancouver, and a long-term research study on improving cycling infrastructure along the Sea to Sky Highway. When he's not working or completing his tasks for the Wetlands Education Program, you'll find him pursuing photography and videography, while also playing hockey and enjoying the outdoors through hiking and other activities. Going forward, Joshua hopes to further expand his knowledge of the environment with a focus on wetlands and their ecological sensitivity, through a combination of school, work, and volunteer commitments.
